Prep Time:30 minutes
Cook Time:12 hours
Total Time:12 hours 30 minutes

Equipment

  • dehydrator
  • knife
  • cutting board

Ingredients

  • 10-15 bananas

Instructions

  • Gather as many bananas as you want to dehydrate
  • Slice each banana as you go along so that you don’t peel too many bananas than can fit in your dehydrator. Keep the thickness of the slices thick enough so they don’t disintegrate while dehydrating but not too thick so they dehydrate too slow.
  • Situate the slices on the dehydrator trays allowing enough room around each for air circulation
  • Set the dehydrator to 135 F for at least 12 hours. Check at 6 hours to evaluate the dryness of the chips but 12 hours (overnight is a great time to do this) usually suffices. If need be after 12 hours, add 3 hours each time and check dryness.
  • Once the banana chips snap when bent, allow them to cool in the dehydrator.
  • Once cooled, move to an airtight container and enjoy!

Notes

Don't use overly ripe bananas as the banana chips need to hold their shape.
